After riding Bo around the neighborhood with a friend almost daily for the past two months, I decided we were ready to try an ACTHA ride. ACTHA stands for American Competative Trail Horse Association. The ride was about 6 miles long with 6 competative obstacles along the way. We scored a combined horse and rider score of 98 out of 120 possible points. I was thrilled for our first outting! Temperature was 97 degrees, so glad we only had to walk the course. We went out with three other riders. What a fun time!

Our first ACTHA ride July 2011
Our second outting this summer was to a Poker Ride to benefit the Circle H Youth Ranch in Pinion Hills, CA. Wonderful ride winding through trees and down a canyon and back up. I rode with two friends, Sue and Roberta.
